ATACH — Our Story

Travel light. Surf more. Swap and Lock.

ATACH makes it easy to adapt, pack, and ride: your way, your journey.

Built for performance and freedom. Our modular surfboards adapt to your lifestyle, from local breaks to remote destinations. One board. Endless possibilities.

Born from frustration with travel costs and bulky boards, ATACH was created because no one got it right—until now.

Other options? Too expensive. Not truly modular.

ATACH changes the game with surfboards that fit in your luggage, car, or even on your motorcycle—all at a competitive price.

Each model is fully modular: swap any part, mix styles, and create endless combinations for every wave, every trip, every ride.

2019 to 2020: Our humble beginnings
Every surfer knows the tension between the perfect wave and the perfect packing job. In late 2019 our founder sketched the very first modular board prototype on his kitchen table, experimenting with 3D-printed lattice cores that felt impossibly light yet fierce underfoot. Neighbors scoffed “Modular you’ll never match the flex of a one-piece.” But when that half board charged through the break with surprising drive and pop we realized we were onto something different – adaptability without compromise.

2021: Testing the waters
In January 2021 the first complete ATACH board hit the water and stability in chop surprised even veteran surfers. That early win propelled a rigorous cycle of redesign refining latch geometries tweaking rocker curves and calibrating rail profiles to perform in everything from mellow beach breaks to fast reef waves. Each tweak brought us closer to a truly modular performance board.

2022: Material pivot
Lab-scale composites tapped out when we tried to scale. In 2022 we moved to a proven sandwich of responsibly sourced wood cores EPS foam and fiberglass balancing longevity response and manufacturability. This material shift set the stage for mass production without sacrificing that signature ATACH flex.

2023: Year of the Joint
With materials locked in 2023 became our year of the joint. We invited pro surfers designers and everyday adventurers to mix nose templates and tail blocks under sun-bleached salt-soaked conditions. Real-world trials confirmed most surfers prize modular versatility transforming one board into three while still craving that near-seamless blank feel.

2024: Production & Precision
Scaling meant more than perfect performance. In 2024 we optimized tooling integrated a quick-release latch and fine-tuned our supply chain with sustainably harvested wood. Limited-edition finishes and rigorous QA ensured every board met Olympic-level standards and global demand.
